Think about this when you see artists on Instagram: "Artists always make spectacular choices in terms of what they are going to wear - it’s part of the gallery game, a game of seduction with the collectors. They are buying you as much as they are buying the work. It’s one of the rare occasions where the class system is subverted. Nobody is going to remember you because you died with a billion dollars, but they will remember your collection. Jean Michel was acutely aware of that.
